Your Neighborhood Catholic School

Serving Students in Preschool through Eighth Grade since 1959

Nestled at the top of a beautiful seven-acre campus in the Indian Trail neighborhood of North Spokane, Assumption Catholic School was established more than 60 years ago by its parish. The staff and leadership at Assumption School strive to meet our mission by:

  • Educating the faithful leaders of the next generation by offering the best Catholic education possible, in light of the Gospel
  • Offering tuition assistance for any family that desires to be part of our community
  • Preparing our students for high school and beyond with proven methods that deliver higher test scores than national norms
  • Offering engaging STEM and music classes, clubs, and electives designed to build lifelong learners
  • Providing a dedicated library with its own certified teacher, as well as art and P.E. for all grades
  • Creating an incredible community for parents and students

Our student expectations are an important aspect of our Catholic identity here at Assumption: Love God, Others First, Value Self as a Child of God, and Excels in Academics. The L.O.V.E. acronym for our student expectations is integrated into our curriculum daily so that students may find opportunities to better themselves, others, and strengthen their faith.

Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics classes are skyrocketing, especially in our junior high! Assumption’s Rocketry Program is like no other opportunity offered to students in the Pacific Northwest, outside a post-secondary education. This hands-on program bridges STEM fundamentals with problem-solving and critical thinking tasks to create the ultimate science program, which our students look forward to each year. Last year, we launched more than 20 rockets, flying as much as 16,000 feet high! This year, we are adding to our rocket program with the building of a high-altitude, near-space balloon. The goal of this project is to build the balloon and then analyze data gathered about our earth’s atmosphere and weather patterns. We want to thank our business partners and our junior high science teacher, Mr. Tom Carter, for helping us to grow and strengthen the STEM programs at Assumption School. The 2020 countdown has begun and the launch has been scheduled for late spring. Find us on Facebook and Instagram to see last year’s launch and updates to our programs!
