Immaculate Heart Retreat Center will be offering a Laity Retreat for Men and Women January 14-16, 2022. It begins at 6 p.m. on Friday and ends at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The title of the retreat is “Work Out Your Salvation!” (Phil 2:12) The retreat will be led by Father Wade L.J. Menezes, CPM

According to St. Augustine, “God created us without us; but he does not will, to save us without us.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church 1847) God loves us so much that he desires we have an active cooperation with him in bringing ourselves to a life of his sanctifying grace, which is always his gratuitous gift. By striving each day to live a life of grace and virtue, our Lord Jesus Christ and his bride, the Church, provide us with all the tools necessary to achieve holiness in this life, but we must be faithful to it. How?

By beginning with five simple steps: by being faithful to our daily duty, by being other-centered, by understanding the reality of both vice and virtue, by practicing and living the sacraments, and by living a trinitarian spirituality — daily. What a great message this is for everyone, regardless of his or her vocation and state in life whether single, married, widowed, or diocesan or consecrated religious!
