Cut your commute

Cut your commute. This is the quickest way to stave off the effects of soaring gas prices and you should consider it – even if it means relocating, Zale said. If you’re traveling an hour or so to work, look for a halfway point that makes more sense. This is especially doable for those who are renting and have lived in their residences long enough to negotiate out of their leases, he said. If moving isn’t an option, try limiting your movement. “We all make an unnecessary trip or two,” Zale said. “Just asking the question: ‘Do I really need to do this today?’  can really help cut down on your costs.”
