Father Paul Ruddy celebrated his 99th birthday on Sept. 23 with the distinction of being both the oldest priest in the Diocese of Lansing and the oldest Oblate of St. Francis de Sales in the world. Father Paul served the diocese for 46 years before retiring in 2001, and he continues to say daily Mass at his residence in Jackson.
