Deacon Puscas Named as New Director of Formation in the Diaconate Office

Deacon Victor Puscas was recently named as the new director of formation in the Diaconate Office. He replaces the former formation director, Deacon Dominic Cerrato, who was promoted to be the director of the Office of the Diaconate. 

Deacon Puscas was ordained a permanent deacon on Aug. 27, 2011, for the Diocese of Joliet and is on loan from the Eparchy of St. George Romanian Catholic Church of Canton, OH.  He recently completed a Doctor of Ministry degree at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago and possesses a Master of Arts degree in pastoral studies from Loyola University, Chicago. In addition, he has a Juris Doctor degree from the John Marshall Law School of Chicago. 

Deacon Puscas has been an attorney for over 25 years and has served as an instructor of the Foundations of Faith program and diaconate formation programs for the Diocese of Joliet since 2012. He was appointed by Bishop Emeritus R. Daniel Conlon as the diocesan representative to the Catholic Conference of Illinois, Defense of Marriage Committee and has served as a permanent deacon at St. Mary Immaculate Parish, Plainfield; St. Patrick Parish, Yorkville; and St. Francis Xavier Parish, Joliet.
