The Bible in a Year

The Bible in a Year is the most popular Catholic podcast ever. Originally launched in 2021, it rapidly became one of the most listened-to podcasts in the United States, with worldwide downloads nearing the one billion mark.

Presented by Father Mike Schmitz of the Diocese of Duluth in Minnesota, The Bible in a Year does exactly what it says: It accompanies the listener through the canon of Sacred Scripture over the course of 365 days. Simple. Its popularity, however, is a testament to the relatable, engaging, and insightful teaching style of Father Schmitz and his production team at Ascension Press.

Each episode is typically 20 to 30 minutes long. The daily reading plan follows a unique, nonchronological order inspired by The Great Adventure Bible Timeline, created by the well-known Biblical scholar Jeff Cavins. This approach organizes the Bible into periods of salvation history, helping us see how the Old and New Testaments connect as one unified story of God's plan for our salvation.

It is also designed for people to start anytime. So, if you have never listened to it before, why not check it out today?
