Apostolic succession

Dear Reader,

On April 10, 2026, Bishop Earl Boyea of Lansing will turn 75. Ad multos annos. Canon Law stipulates that, upon reaching that age, a diocesan bishop must tender his resignation to the Holy Father. Bishop Boyea may well remain at the helm of the Diocese of Lansing until his successor is found. However, now seems like the most propitious time for FAITH Magazine to express our gratitude for the Most Reverend Earl Boyea’s 18-year tenure as Bishop of Lansing. We hope you enjoy this special tribute to our
good shepherd.
