On July 9, Bishop Earl Boyea presented 39 African-American students from the Diocese of Lansing the first Venerable Augustus Tolton Scholarships.

The “only solution to the challenges of this moment,” is to follow the wise counsel of Pope St. Paul VI: “If you want peace, work for justice.”
