Bringing up happy and holy children in the modern world is possible, but it’s not easy. That’s especially true if — as a mother or father — you weren’t raised in a particularly faithful and functional Catholic home. Hence, ancillary assistance is always welcome!

The Catholic Parent is a six-part television series featuring Catholic families as they share their daily struggles and victories. Co-created by the Augustine Institute and Catholic Sprouts apostolate, The Catholic Parent aims to encourage moms and dads as they “embrace their God-given role to form a family in the richness of the Catholic faith.”
Each episode is roughly 15-20 minutes and typically tackles a particular challenge of Catholic parenting: the Sunday Obligation; Confession; Family Prayer; Sacrifice; Generosity; and Handing on the Faith. Every installment of The Catholic Parent is leavened by interviews with real-life parents and lightened by the, often, amusing antics of their real-life children.
The series can be watched with your spouse, with friends, on your own, or as part of a small group. The program producers have very helpfully provided a participant guide on their website that includes questions for group discussion, topics for personal reflection, and ideas to try at home.
